Determination and Quantification of Aquatic Organisms
This field of work summarizes our skills of determination and quantification of nearly all kinds of aquatic organisms. Base of these services is – beside the adequate scientific qualification and continous training – especially the comprehensive taxonomic knowledge of the IDUS staff arising from many years of work within the field of aquatic ecology with all its aspects. We offer this expertise either as part of complex surveys (e.g. for the assessment according to WFD), as a service within monitoring programmes or up to single samples. For the determination of microscopic organisms the IDUS Laboratory is equipped with different types of microscopes (stereo microscopes, inverse microscopes, fluorescence microscope), a comprehensive body of taxonomic literature and a collection of voucher specimen.
